Couples therapy

Relationships can become stuck in patterns that neither partner intended. The same arguments repeat. Small moments turn into big reactions. One person reaches while the other pulls away, and before long, you're both wondering how you ended up here.

Couples therapy isn't about deciding who's right or wrong. It's about slowing things down enough to understand what's happening beneath the conflict so you can begin relating to one another in a different way.

Whether you're feeling disconnected, rebuilding after betrayal, navigating a major life transition, or simply wanting a healthier relationship, therapy offers a space to understand each other more deeply and move forward with greater clarity and intention.

You don't have to wait until your relationship feels like it's falling apart. Many couples seek therapy because they want to understand each other better and build a stronger foundation for the future.

Couples therapy can be helpful if you and your partner are experiencing:

  • Communication that always seems to end in the same argument

  • Emotional distance or feeling more like roommates than partners

  • Rebuilding trust after infidelity or another form of betrayal

  • Questions about whether to stay together or separate

  • Intimacy or emotional connection that feels difficult

  • Parenting stress or the transition into parenthood

  • Recurring patterns that neither of you knows how to change

  • A desire to strengthen your relationship before problems become crises

Is couples therapy right for us?

A collaborative, attachment-based approach

My work is grounded in attachment theory and informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and the Gottman Method.

Rather than focusing only on the conflict itself, we'll explore the emotional and nervous system patterns driving it. Together, we'll identify the protective strategies that once made sense but may now be creating distance, defensiveness, or disconnection.

Clients often tell me they feel both seen and gently guided in our work. My goal isn't simply to help you stop arguing, it's to help you understand yourselves and each other in ways that create lasting, meaningful change.

Together, we'll work toward a relationship that feels more connected, secure, and intentional.

Every relationship develops patterns. The good news is that patterns can be understood, and what can be understood can begin to change.
